Konuşma hedefi
Son dönemde üzerinde çalıştığın bir hedefi 2–3 dakika anlat. Ne zaman başladığını, ne kadar süredir devam ettiğini, şu ana kadar ne tamamladığını ve henüz neyi bitirmediğini açıkla.

Bu üç zaman arasındaki fark yalnızca eylemin geçmişte olması değildir. Konuşmacının bitmiş zamana mı, bugünkü sonuca mı, tamamlanan miktara mı yoksa devam eden sürece mi odaklandığı belirleyicidir.

Özne + fiilin ikinci hâli
Past Simple, olayın geçmişte tamamlandığını ve kullanılan zaman çerçevesinin artık bittiğini gösterir.
I started the course in March.
We completed three projects last year.
She worked in Berlin from 2021 to 2024.
yesterday, last week, in 2023, two days ago, when I was a student gibi bitmiş zaman ifadeleri Past Simple gerektirir.
Present Perfect Simple: Sonuç, deneyim ve tamamlanan miktar
Özne + have/has + V3
Geçmişte gerçekleşen bir olayın bugünkü sonucu önemliyse, kesin bitmiş zaman belirtilmiyorsa veya dönem hâlâ devam ediyorsa kullanılır.
I have finished the report, so you can review it now.
She has visited six countries.
We have had three meetings this week.

Present Perfect Continuous: Süre ve devam eden etkinlik
Özne + have/has been + fiil-ing
Geçmişte başlayan ve şimdiye kadar devam eden, yeni bitmiş veya etkisi görülen etkinliğin sürecine odaklanır.
I have been working on the report for three hours.
It has been raining, so the roads are wet.
They have been contacting potential customers all morning.
Odak çoğu zaman süre, geçici süreç, tekrar eden yakın dönem etkinliği veya görünen kanıt üzerindedir.

Present Perfect Simple tamamlanan miktarı veya sonucu öne çıkarır:
I have written five pages today.
Present Perfect Continuous etkinliğe ayrılan süreyi veya süreci öne çıkarır:
I have been writing for three hours.
İlk cümlede beş sayfanın tamamlanması, ikinci cümlede yazma etkinliğinin süresi önemlidir. Etkinlik henüz bitmiş de olabilir, devam ediyor da olabilir.
Kalıcı sonuç ve geçici süreç
She has worked for the company for ten years. uzun süreli durum veya genel gerçek olarak algılanabilir.
She has been working from the Ankara office for the past two months. geçici veya sınırlı bir düzenlemeyi vurgular.
Bazı fiillerde iki yapı da mümkündür; anlam farkı konuşmacının sonuç mu süreç mi vurguladığına bağlıdır.
Yeni bitmiş etkinlik ve görünen kanıt
Görünen veya hissedilen bir sonuç etkinliğin sürecinden kaynaklanıyorsa Continuous doğaldır:
Your hands are covered in paint. Have you been decorating?
She is out of breath because she has been running.
Sonuç tamamlanan nesne veya başarıysa Simple kullanılır:
She has run three marathons this year.
Past Simple ile sınır çizmek
Bitmiş ve devam eden zaman dönemleri
Bitmiş dönem: I attended four conferences last year.
Devam eden dönem: I have attended four conferences this year.
Today, this week, this month, this year dönemleri henüz bitmemişse Present Perfect kullanılabilir. Konuşma anında dönem artık bitmiş kabul ediliyorsa Past Simple mümkündür:
I did not get much done this morning. öğleden sonra söylenirse sabah bitmiştir.
Kesin geçmiş zamanı sormak
Have you ever…? hayat deneyimini sorar; kesin tarih önemli değildir.
Have you ever led an international project?
Deneyimin ayrıntısına geçildiğinde Past Simple kullanılır:
Yes, I have. I led one in 2024. We worked with teams in three countries.
When did you…? kesin geçmiş zamanı sorduğu için Present Perfect ile kullanılmaz.
For, since ve how long
for + süre: for three days, for several years
since + başlangıç noktası: since Monday, since 2022, since I joined the company
We have known each other for twelve years.
I have been preparing for the exam since January.
How long have you been working here? etkinliğin süresini; How many reports have you completed? tamamlanan miktarı sorar.
Önemli özel durumlar
Durum fiilleri Continuous kullanılmaz
know, believe, understand, own, belong, need, prefer, like gibi durum fiilleri normalde Present Perfect Continuous ile kullanılmaz.
I have been knowing her for years. → I have known her for years.
We have been owning this house since 2018. → We have owned this house since 2018.
Bazı fiiller eylem anlamı kazandığında Continuous olabilir: I have been thinking about your proposal.
Been ve gone farkı
have been to: Bir yere gidip geri dönmüş olmak veya deneyim yaşamış olmak.
Mina has been to Italy three times.
have gone to: Kişi gitmiştir ve hâlâ oradadır ya da henüz dönmemiştir.
Mina has gone to Italy, so she will not be at the meeting.
Already, just, yet, still, recently ve lately
- already: beklenenden önce tamamlanma — I have already sent it.
- just: çok yakın geçmiş — She has just arrived.
- yet: soru ve olumsuzlarda henüz — Have you finished yet?
- still: beklenen durumun devamı — I still have not received a reply.
- recently/lately: yakın dönem — We have received several complaints recently. / I have been feeling tired lately.
Amerikan İngilizcesinde yakın geçmişte Past Simple da sık duyulabilir: Did you eat yet? Ancak standart öğretim ve uluslararası yazılı kullanımda Present Perfect güvenli seçenektir.

- I read the report yesterday.
Bitmiş zaman: raporu dün okudum. - I have read the report, so I am ready to discuss it.
Bugünkü sonuç: raporu okudum ve şimdi tartışabilirim. - I have been reading the report all morning.
Süreç ve süre: bütün sabah raporu okuyordum/okuyorum. - They developed three prototypes last year.
Bitmiş geçmiş dönem ve tamamlanan miktar. - They have developed three prototypes so far.
Şu ana kadarki sonuç ve sayı. - They have been developing a new prototype since May.
Mayıstan beri devam eden süreç.
Türkçe konuşanların sık yaptığı hatalar
I have seen him yesterday.→ I saw him yesterday.
Yesterday bitmiş zaman olduğu için Past Simple kullanılır.I am working here since 2022.→ I have been working here since 2022.
Geçmişte başlayıp süren etkinlik Present Perfect gerektirir.I have finished three reports since two hours.→ I have finished three reports in two hours. / I have been working for two hours.
Since başlangıç noktası, for süre ile kullanılır.How long did you work here?→ Hâlâ çalışıyorsa How long have you been working here?She has went home.→ She has gone home.
Present Perfect fiilin üçüncü hâlini gerektirir.I have been knowing him for years.→ I have known him for years.
